Eat: Miami

Miami is a melting pot of cultures and so is the food! There is so much deliciousness in this city but a handful of items have stood out as true staples.

Eat:Miami FOOD ITEMS

  • Cuban Sandwich: A local staple and potentially the most famous Miami food of all, the Cuban Sandwich is a variation of a ham and cheese sandwich that originated in cafes catering to Cuban migrant workers in Key West during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is typically made with fresh Cuban bread, yellow mustard, roasted pork, baked ham, Swiss cheese, and sliced dill pickles.

  • Key Lime Pie: A perfect key lime pie (for anyone who doesn’t know) is supposed to be sweet, tart, crunchy, and creamy.

  • Stone Crabs: We have 2 seasons in South Florida: Stone Crab Season (winter) and Mango Season (Summer). The stone crab is one of the most tender and succulent crab meats. Served cracked and chilled on ice, Florida Stone Crab claws can vary in size and its sweet, lobster-esque meat needs no seasoning.

  • Florida Oranges: A.K.A. the Official State Fruit of Florida. Citrus fruit, especially oranges, are a major part of Florida's economy and oh-so-delicious!

  • Colada: It would be a mistake to try to drink a Colada by yourself, which is why it comes with little cups to share. Miami literally runs on Cafe Cubano and any version of this coffee is served through through cafecito windows across the city.
